MINISTER OF INTERCESSORY PRAYER AND ENCOURAGEMENT
Jerome “Jay” Bell moved to the Pineville area in June 2009 and began attending GraceLife – formerly known as Stough Metmorial Baptist – where he became a member in November 2009 serving in various capacities of ministry as Deacon and member of the Praise Team, Praise Choir, and Grace In Marriage. Jay was ordained to ministry on May 20, 2012 and now serves as our Minister of Intercessory Prayer and Encouragement, providing support in teaching, preaching, prayer, worship and encouragement for the ministry and missions both locally and abroad.
Jay developed his love of serving people during his deployment with the United States Navy and position as a Staff Developer for The James J. Peters V.A. Medical Center. Now retired, he enjoys sharing his knowledge and skills with the Body of Christ to further in sharing the Gospel and helping Christians grow in faith.
He and his loving wife, Alicia (Lisa), have been married since May 15, 2004 and enjoy the simple pleasures of spending time together holding hands, watching movies, reading, and goofing off with their grandchildren.
MINISTER OF MISSIONS
After 31 years in the corporate world, John took early retirement in 2013 and followed God’s leading to attend seminary in the Charlotte area with the intent of pursuing international missions; specifically—to train pastors in countries that do not have access to biblical education. John and his wife Cheryl began attending GraceLife in 2014 and have served in together in ministry to new attenders, Cheryl has taught at women’s events, and John has been active in teaching discipleship classes. After graduating with a Masters in Biblical Studies in 2017, John was ordained by GraceLife and transitioned into the position of Minister of Missions where he is presently fulfilling his initial desire to train pastors and leaders in other countries, and developing resources through GraceLife to “Produce Leaders Who Reproduce Leaders.” John and Cheryl have four children. Their oldest son has been a missionary in Portugal for over 10 years and presently teaches at the Portuguese Bible Institute in Lisbon, their second son is an Electrical Engineer in Florida, their oldest daughter is an Occupational Therapist in Columbia, and their youngest daughter currently lives with them at home.
